Hydraulic Actuated Valves

BJ hydraulic actuator assembly is designed to provide open and close BJ reverse acting or direct acting gate valve by means of hydraulic pressure applied against a piston in a closed cylinder. It employs coil springs to assure fail- safe closure of a reverse-acting gate valve upon loss of control pressure.  When applied to a direct-acting gate valve, the return spring action will result in opening of the valve upon loss of control pressure.

BJ Actuators/valve combination can be installed on major brands of API 6A or 6D through conduit reverse acting gate valves. This actuator/valve combination closes the gate valve automatically upon loss of control-line pressure supplied by the main flowline or pipeline. The BJ Actuator provides single-point protection and can be installed as a secondary master valve on the tree, or directly on flowlines, header valves, gathering lines, pipelines, and transmission lines.

BJ Surface Safety Valves are suitable for offshore and onshore locations and ideal for use in H2S and CO2 applications. The full range of these hydraulic piston actuators provide a simple and reliable valve automation solution. The range is available in 2 1/16" through 9" nominal valve sizes with various pressure ratings from 3000 to 10000 psi.

BO Low-Pressure Pilot

The  RHB  Pilot  assembly  is  designed  to  provide  a complete, simple, compact and reliable line pressure operated or process controlled device.  It consists of two  RHB  Pilots  set  to  trip  at  pre-set  high  and  low pressures, in conjunction with a velocity check valve, 2 isolation valves and trip indicators.

The  system  is  attached  to  the  flow  line  via  the sensing  port  and  to  the  actuator  via  the supply port. The  high  and  low  pilots  are  set  such  that  if  the  flow line pressure drops or increases beyond the pilot trip point setting the relevant pilot trips and exhausts the actuator control pressure.  The tripped pilot creates a differential across the velocity check valve causing it to shut and isolate the supply port from the flow line pressure,  allowing  the  actuator  pressure  to  be released  through  the  venting  pilot  resulting in  the closure of the valve. By either loosening or tightening the  adjustment  bolt,  the  sensor  may  be set at  the desired trip point.


BO Low-Pressure Monitor/Actuator Pilot

The BO Pilot initiates the closing of a UX Actuator/Gate Valve Assembly. The BO is a low- pressure sensing pilot that detects a reduction in pressure of the flowline or pipeline that it is monitoring. Pressure from the monitored line holds the pilot ball on the seat against a preset spring constant. Any abnormal reduction in pressure causes the spring to forcethe ball offseat and exhaust the pressure from the BJ Actuator chamber. With the pressure absent from the actuator chamber, the gate valve closes.

DO High-Pressure Monitor/Actuator Pilot

The DO Pilot is a spring-loaded, pressure-activated pilot that initiates the closing of BJ Actuator/Gate-Valve Assembly. The DO is a high- pressure sensing pilot that detects an abnormal increase in pressure in the flowline or pipeline it is monitoring. When pressure from the line being monitored exceeds a preset value, the check ball comes off seat and exhausts the actuator body pressure to atmosphere. With pressure absent from the actuator chamber, the gate valve closes.

M Actuator Pilot

The M Pressure-Sensing Pilot is a pressure-operated actuator pilot typically used in high-pressure control circuits. This pilot depends on another pilot (or pilots) for operation. Many times, monitoring low- and high-pressure fluctuations in the flowline is better accomplished by separate pilots. This combination of pilots allows flexibility in surface safety system design. Combination high- and low-pressure pilots are normally used with the BJ Safety Valve when control of the safety valve must take place from a remote, high-pressure source. The M Pilot also enables the surface safety valve to be controlled by a pressure source other than line pressure. The action of this pilot exhausts the safety valve chamber, closing the valve.

Otis M Check Valve

The M Check Valve is a velocity-type check valve designed to be installed in high-pressure control lines or any line serve as a check valve. It is designed to check the flow of external control pressure when the safety system pilots operate and also to function as a safety valve on the pressure source control line in the event the control line itself is broken.
